The Interessenverband Deutsches Internet (IDI) has taken on the task to survey the usage of the internet and support the interests of the serious users. Heiko Rittelmeier maintains some good and informative pages which are of interest for every user of the internet. He covers everything from internet auctions, the Nigeria connection up to methods of payment, 0190 fraud, viruses, worm and spyware. He points to all know problems, and security risks in a very structured way, and gives possible solutions. (only in German)

SPAM

Most likely you are also flooded by advertising e-mails. This is not only annoying, but simply illegal. You did not order this rubbish, but still you receive it on your costs (dial in fees, hard disc capacity, time, etc.). This kind of advertisement is prohibited (in many countries), like the unrequested advertising via fax, because you pay for it and not the one who is doing the advertising. On top of it, you receive mostly advertisement for sex pages, questionable and useless software or financial offers which turn out to be fraud. Don't let them get awy wih it! Act against it!
